Anarchy in the UK, Summer 2011.

Last night, I sat in absolute and utter horror as I watched extremely violent events unfold around London, live on BBC News 24.  Raging fires, looting, vandalism and general thuggery was blatantly carried out right in front of the amassed Police forces who, to all intents and purposes, looked outnumbered, out of their depth and completely ineffectual.  It’s no wonder that these rioters were so brazen, they knew damned well that the authorities could do nothing to stop them.

Then in a further development, riots spread to other areas of the UK; Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool and Nottingham.  A lot of innocent and terrified people have had their homes, property and businesses devastated by these thugs and I sincerely hope that no-one have lost their lives… thing is, right now, no-one knows if this is the case.

As pictures of burning buildings, that included entire blocks of houses and businesses, flashed across our screen, Mana gripped my arm tightly in fear and asked me if this would happen to our home.  She’s 4 years old for Christ’s sake and was in fear for her own safety!  This sort of thing should not play on a child’s mind, in fact it should be the last thing that children have to contend with, but there was no escaping the news, it was everywhere and at that time of the night, there was no diverting children’s television to distract her with.  I had to tell her not to worry and that it was all happening really far away from us, but I couldn’t tell her the reality that actually some of this was going on just a few short miles away in Ealing.  When looking out of the roof window at the top of our house last night, I could just see wisps of smoke and an orange glow on the far horizon.

A number of friends of mine live in the thick of it and one of them called me last night to let me know what was going on and for 40 minutes, he gave me a live eye-witness account, telling me that the area looked like Hell on Earth and that they were in fear that the carnage could spread to their homes.  Thankfully the thugs moved on and directed their attentions to a nearby branch of a major electrical store.

I am so ashamed to be British right now.

So what started all this off?

Tottenham.  Thursday, the 4th of August, 2011.  Mark Duggan was shot dead by armed Police during an opperation to take him into custody.  It’s been suggested that he too was armed, but this has not yet been confirmed, however a Police Officer was also shot during this time, though this is surrounded in mystery as he may have been accidentally shot by another officer.  No information has so far been presented on this and this factor in itself may well be part of what started events off, to allow it all to escalate into anarchy.  The local community naturally wanted answers and when none were forthcoming, things became heated and people then turned to rioting.

The thing is, the riots have absolutely nothing to do with Mark Duggan’s tragic death, even his family have deplored what’s going on.  The truth of the matter is that his death has been hijacked and used as an excuse to carry out unspeakable crimes.  Yes, this is criminality on a grand scale and many see it as a bloody free-for-all to commit whatever crimes they want to do without fear of reprisals; arson, criminal damage, burglary, muggings, you name it, it’s probably been happening.  Just because thousands of people are doing this, the individuals think that they’ll never be caught, though hopefully in time, they will be and with luck, the full force of the law will be brought down on their sorry, scummy little arses.  These people are low lifes of the highest order, mindless sheep with no thought or concern for others or their safety.  Think about it, you cretinous plebs, you’re destroying your own communities – you’re the ones who’ll have to live and deal with the aftermath, but you’ve also dragged innocent civilians into your carnage.  Fucking idiots.  I have no time for animals like these.

If these no hopers dare to even suggest that they’re rioting in reaction to Mr. Duggan’s death, then would they please care to explain to the world why they feel the need to steal 32″ Plasma TVs, sports shoes, alcohol, designer clothes, even cash registers filled with money and other such desirable items – how would doing this help the “cause” then?  Perhaps as they weep over Mr. Duggan’s death, they can take comfort and solace in that they now have the ability to watch “Jeremy Kyle” in high-definition, whilst they slouch around their filthy little pig sties, resplendent in the latest trendy footwear – that’ll help them cope with the man’s death and honour his memory.  Yeah, I fully understand why they’re doing this now, very moving.  My heart fucking bleeds for them.  Funny, I haven’t seen anyone raiding a branch of Waterstones, the local libraries or even Mothercare… you know, I think there may be something in that.  A clue, maybe.

I saw CCTV footage of one poor chap wearing a backpack who had clearly been struck across the back of his head for some reason.  While he was disoriented with blood pouring from his wounds, a bunch of dirty little scrotes opened his backpack and just helped themselves to the contents as if it were their god given right.  Others just watched on and did nothing.  Some of these prize pricks have even uploaded footage of themselves from within the riots, excellent move there chums, you’ve just shown the world what this really is about; greed – these particular “intellectuals” are seen to be clearly planning on robbing a jewellers to get some watches.  Yeah, right on – that’ll teach the Police a lesson for shooting a known criminal.  You think you can get away with your crimes because you hide your faces.  Just wait for that tap on the shoulder maties, it’ll happen.

I’m not even going to comment much on the political reaction to this because it’s pointless.  They just talk the talk and flap their lips, but all that comes out is meaningless drivel.  The Police are doing their best, but can achieve little because they don’t have the powers to do anything else, yet the politicians don’t have the guts to do what everyone are thinking, send in the army to back the Fuzz up, give them plastic bullets and give these morons on the streets something to fear.  That’s why this has gotten out of control, these people have no fear because they know nothing can really be done – it’s a cycle that will go on and on.

No, the politicians would rather take the namby-pamby route.  Mmm hmmm.  Yeah, calling on the parents to bring these people home is really going to work, honestly, this has seriously happened – politicians and Police have addressed the press and said exactly this.  What next?  Are we going to stand the naughty boys and girls in the corner, then send them to bed early with no tea?  Wake up, take action and do what you were elected to do – to bloody well LEAD!  Take affirmative action and deal with the chaos.  We must be a laughing-stock across the world.

I’m going to cut this short.  You can tell I’m a little bit angry because I’ve gotten a little bit sweary there, so I do apologise.  All I can say is that I’m flabbergasted that things have come this far!

Let’s just hope that tonight doesn’t fall into a fourth day of violence.  This just can’t go on.

  2. Plastic Bullets? Water cannons? Honestly these creatures have no right to exist in modern society. If people are going to rise and plunder against their fellow neighbor as they did in London then start picking them off one by one. You know I bet next time they would think twice about getting involved if they knew that society wouldnt mess around with rubber bullets and water cannons.
I am not one for big government and draconian laws but on the flip side there are just too many low life scum that have no ambition and exist only to suck the productivity from decent people. When those types resort to violence the solution should be swift and final. You forfeit your right to exist.
If that is too harsh for some of you then I would be open to just gathering them up and dropping them onto some south pacific island with plenty of supplies and allowing them to survive nature. :)

    • On behalf of the South Pacific – we don’t want them either! Maybe a nice spell in Siberia? Maybe without the ‘plenty of supplies’?

Disgraceful and saddening all around – I’ve only just visited the UK and loved it – the sort of people behind actions like this don’t deserve to remain in decent society, but a decent society has so few ways of properly dealing with them.

(PS:: Hi Purple, so glad that it didn’t get quite out your way but was really worried for you all).

  3. Did anyone else see the Blackberry messages, come and get free stuff, and so on.
    Sickening.
I am afraid my nearest big city will succumb to the same treatment. I hope not, but there have been rumours all day, and our police force have been sent to back up London, along with many others.
Why break into charity shops, and baby shops, sheer wanton nastiness is why.
Ma Purple signing out, also extremely angry.

  4. Dude, you are 100% right to vent. Nothing wrong with swearing either. Do what you need to do.

  5. I was truly shocked by what ive seen over the last few days. It soon became clear that organised criminal gangs were responsible. Planning attacks on shops and giving the cops the run around.

What im slightly worried about is that the IPCC revealed yesterday that the gun found at the scene of Duggan’s shoot was not discharged by him at officers. So in other words the police opened fire first. Hopfully this wont give rise to more excuses for riots.

Thankfully its all been very peaceful here in the north east, im hoping it stays that way.
